Concern over lack of evidence base for UK visa decisions

Review highlights “extraordinary” absence of data as business leaders write to prime minister

A group of business leaders have written to prime minister Rishi Sunak, urging him not to make changes to the graduate visa route without a “detailed and comprehensive review” of the consequences.

The letter, coordinated by the National Centre for Universities and Business, says that businesses are “deeply concerned” by reports of growing research and teaching funding gaps, as well as “sharp declines in international student applications as a result of government policy”.
