Graduate visa review: Higher education sector responds

University groups have their say on the findings of today’s Migration Advisory Committee report

A Migration Advisory Committee review has concluded that the graduate visa route, which allows overseas students to remain in the UK to work after graduation, should remain in place.

The review, commissioned in March by home secretary James Cleverly, was commissioned in response to government concerns about possible abuse of the visa route. The government has made reducing net migration one of its priorities.
