Academic institutions are increasingly being priced out of working on advanced AI, a new report has found.

There is a growing divide in access to computing resources between large industrial AI labs and academic labs, according to the 17 May report. This divide is giving rise to “unequal participation” in the development of AI, the International Scientific Report on the Safety of Advanced AI has found.
