Prime minister reportedly plans to use savings from course closures to boost apprenticeships

Rishi Sunak has pledged to end “rip-off” degrees being offered by higher education institutions and boost apprenticeships if he is elected prime minister again.

An estimated one in eight undergraduate students are on the courses that could be scrapped, with savings from the planned cull used to create 100,000 new highly skilled apprenticeship places a year, according to media reports.
