Voice-over: The day is just beginning at Royal Dalton University, formerly the North by North West Midlands Institute and Technical College, which was granted university status in 2010, and is now home to more than 20,000 students on undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is 6am and head of traffic management, Ian Cartwright, is preparing for the first day of term.
