London has a vibrant, diverse, mobile, multicultural and young population of nine million. Thanks to the UK’s universal and comprehensive healthcare system, the city does well on many international health indicators.
Even so, there are deep-seated inequalities in health and healthcare, and challenges that need to be addressed now. Of particular concern are London’s high rate of childhood obesity, pollution and social inequalities.
