In another episode of our reality documentary series, we visit Royal Dalton University, formerly the North by North West Midlands Institute and Technical College.

Narrator: It’s 10am at Royal Dalton, one of the UK’s busiest higher education institutions. Margot Alderman, the university’s mindfulness officer is preparing for a seminar on “mindfulness for middle management”.

Margot: In the beginning, mindfulness was a tough sell in the university. Some people said that a university is a place dedicated to reason and evidence-based scientific enquiry. They said there was “no room for pseudo-mystical claptrap”, which was a bit rude.
