With statistics out last week showing UK universities recruiting record numbers of international students, it is important to recognise the role London plays in international student recruitment.

London is not just the UK’s capital city; it is the UK’s global city. If we are serious about projecting an image of ‘Global Britain’ and being open to the world, we need London and its institutions more than ever to act as a gateway to the nation, attracting international talent and investment and channelling it across the regions.
