Science features in debate
President Obama raised the topic of science and technology spending during the second televised presidential debate with his Republican challenger, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. Obama argued that it was not a problem if some low-wage, low-skill jobs that have been outsourced overseas do not return. “I want high-wage, high-skill jobs,” the president said, adding that the government should ensure the United States has “the best science and research in the world”.
