Open access guidelines issued for research papers

Every university and college should have a policy that peer-reviewed versions of all future scholarly articles by faculty members are deposited in the institution’s designated repository, according to guidelines released on 12 September by an international coalition involving leaders of the open access publishing movement.

Coalition members include Heather Joseph, who heads the Association of Research Libraries’ (ARL) Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition, and Peter Suber from Harvard University’s Open Access Project.
