Artificial intelligence is making it more tempting than ever for unscrupulous academics to plagiarise

Unscrupulous academics have many creative ways to circumvent the checks and balances put in place by scholarly journals and research institutions to uphold research integrity.

One of the most troubling issues is the rise of ‘paper mills’. Companies offering to write essays for students have been around for many years. Increasingly, they are also targeting researchers.
