‘Grave’ concern over proposal to halve OSTP budget

The scientific community has “grave” concerns about a 50 per cent cut to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s (OSTP) budget proposed by the House of Representatives for fiscal year (FY) 2012, according to Alan Leshner, the CEO of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

The House has recommended a budget of $3 million for OSTP, roughly half the FY2011 level.
