Key Democratic and Republican senators have written to President Obama emphasising the importance of maintaining support for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) exascale computing efforts, which involve computers that can perform one million trillion calculations per second.
They are urging the President to continue support of DOE’s exascale computing initiative in his FY2013 budget request, due out in February.
