A large group representing scientific and academic interests, including more than 40 research universities, have urged appropriators on Capitol Hill to oppose attempts to eliminate or substantially cut funding for specific National Science Foundation (NSF) activities.
Areas of concern as the NSF funding bill for fiscal year 2012 is being crafted include the Social, Behavioral and Economics programme.
