Lawmakers oppose peer reviewer disclosure

Key Democrats in the House of Representatives are trying to rally support within Congress to address “troubling provisions” in a bill that would mandate the disclosure of peer reviewers of federally funded grants.

The Grant Reform and New Transparency (GRANT) Act, approved by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in mid-November, would also require federal agencies to post their grant applications on a public website, including any amendments made before or after issuing the award.
