Democrats challenge EPA on delayed Alaska grants

House Democrats have written to Scott Pruitt, the Environmental Protection Agency's administrator, to follow up on reports that the agency put a temporary hold on all grants to the state of Alaska.

The letter from Democrat members of the House energy and commerce committee followed reports that funding was being withheld after Alaska’s Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski voted against the repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

The hold on payments has reportedly delayed the award of $10 million in previously agreed funding.
