
Senate and House leaders question Department of Education’s preparation for resumption of repayments
Leading Republicans have called on the Government Accountability Office to look into the Department of Education’s “readiness” for the resumption of student loan repayments.
Bill Cassidy, ranking member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and Virginia Foxx, chair of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, claimed there was no evidence that the department was prepared for the “historic effort” needed.
