Significant challenges remain with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) science-based chemical assessment programme known as the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS), according to a congressional Government Accountability Office (GAO) report released on 9 January.
GAO found that EPA had yet to make operational all the reforms to the IRIS programme promised by the Obama administration.
