The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is taking on the hundreds of comments and concerns expressed by research universities and others in response to updates it has made to the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
The Guide governs animal research funded by the agency, and the changes became effective on 1 January, 2012.
