Panel identifies ‘urgent need’ for breast cancer research

Federal agencies need a greater focus on breast cancer prevention research, according to a report published by the federal Interagency Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Coordinating Committee (IBCERCC) on12 February.

The congressionally-mandated panel highlighted an “urgent need” for coordinated, targeted efforts to identify and mitigate the environmental causes of breast cancer.
