DOE’s science chief departs

The director of the Department of Energy’s Office of Science William Brinkman has announced he will be leaving the organisation on 12 April.

In a memo to staff on 15 March, Brinkman expressed serious concern about what he called “the erosion of science funding” in the US at a time when most industrialised countries are increasing their investments.
