NIH awards $100 million for Autism Centers of Excellence

The National Institutes of Health has awarded almost $100 million over the next five years to nine research projects as part of the Autism Centers of Excellence program.

“Autism spectrum disorder has myriad environmental, genetic, neurological and behavioral components,” said Diana Bianchi, director of NIH’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, one of five institutes funding the program.

The awards will support research at five individual centers and at four research networks involving multiple centres.
