Political appointee reviews grant awards at environment agency

The United States Environmental Protection Agency has placed a political appointee in charge of vetting all of the agency’s research grant awards and calls for proposals, according to an article in The Washington Post.

John Kronkus, a former Trump campaign aide, reportedly keeps his eye out for the term “climate change” and instructs staff to remove it.

He has also cancelled around $2 million in already awarded research grants.
