NIH promises to do more to combat sexual harassment

The National Institutes of Health has said it will be more transparent, attentive and accountable in dealing with cases of sexual harassment at the institutes it funds.

The NIH laid out its plans to “become part of the solution” to the problem of sexual harassment in research in a statement signed by senior staff on 28 February.

A dedicated sexual harassment working group of the agency’s top advisers met for the first time last month. It will make recommendations in June, with a final report in December.
