Milestone US lunar landing attempt stymied by fuel leak

Private flight was intended to provide US with first moon landing in half a century

An attempt to provide the US with its first lunar landing since 1972, and the world with its first-ever commercial moon landing, has been stymied by a fuel leak.

Peregrine Mission One launched on 8 January with the aim of taking 20 payloads from seven nations, including research equipment, to the moon, landing on 23 February.
