Air Force and NSF to collaborate

The United States Air Force and the National Science Foundation are planning joint scientific activities.

A declaration between the two organisations, signed on 9 May, states that their partnership will help coordinate mutual research interests and themes. They also plan to identify opportunities for complementary activities in research including basic and applied science, and advanced technology development.

In the joint statement, the NSF and US Air Force said that the missions of both organisations could be achieved more effectively with greater transparency and coordinated planning.
