White House circles wagons around 20 ‘critical’ technologies

Trump administration promises whole government will work to protect and grow US technology leadership

The White House has set out its strategy to protect the United States’ advantage in 20 technology areas deemed most important to outcompete the country’s geopolitical rivals, China and Russia.

The strategy, published on 15 October, is intended to unify government efforts to improve the US’s innovation capacity and protect this advantage from outside interference.
