‘More action needed’ to reap benefits of bioeconomy R&D

Report from US government departments calls for prioritisation of research investment

Government and industry in the US must do more to ensure the country can maintain its global leadership in biotechnology and reap the maximum benefits from it, a new report has stressed.

Biotechnologies are going to “transform the foundation of our physical world”, according to the report compiled by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, with contributions from the National Science Foundation and the departments of agriculture, commerce, energy, and health and human services.
