Federation of American Scientists finds funding shortfalls in 2023 and plans for 2024

Funding to boost US research and innovation through the Chips and Science Act is falling billions of dollars short of what was expected, according to analysis by the Federation of American Scientists.

Government allocations for 2023 were nearly $3 billion less than was set out in the act, the FAS calculated in its analysis published this month.
