House of Representatives creates bipartisan AI taskforce

Taskforce will produce report on risks and actions needed to advance AI

Leaders of the House of Representatives have launched a bipartisan taskforce on artificial intelligence to ensure the US retains its global leadership in the technology.

Republican House speaker Mike Johnson and Democratic House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries announced on 20 February that they had appointed 24 members of key committees—12 from each party—to the taskforce.
