Academies paper aims to help stem harassment in US academia

Challenges cited include a lack of coordination, transparency and consistency in responses

A paper from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine has explored challenges in preventing sexual harassment on United States campuses and found that more research is needed to find ways to systematically tackle the problem.

The report, published this month, reviews available data on the prevalence of sexual harassment by US faculty, as well as shortcomings in existing responses.
