US president Joe Biden stresses right to protest does not give right to break law
President Joe Biden has weighed in on the demonstrations taking place across campuses in the US protesting against the war in Gaza, which have led to violent arrests, and prompted much political comment and concern.
At several US campuses, encampments have been created as part of protests against the severity and extent of the Israeli government’s deadly retaliation for the murder and kidnapping of Israeli citizens by Palestinian group Hamas.
