The Association of American Universities (AAU) has applauded the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP) announced by President Obama on 24 June. The initiative involves industry, universities and the federal government teaming up to foster innovative R&D on emerging technologies that can spur jobs in the manufacturing sector and retain US competitiveness.
“We are delighted that President Obama announced today that he will initiate a new government-university-industry partnership to accelerate research and development on emerging technologies to improve US manufacturing,” the AAU said.
