Agencies advised to review grant portfolios in preparation for cuts

Federal agencies should prepare to operate with reduced budgetary resources by reviewing their grants and contracts to determine “where cost savings may be achieved”, the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) advised in a 14 January memo.

In the memo to heads of executive departments and agencies, Jeffrey Zients also suggested that agencies should remain mindful of how individual contracts or grants advance their core mission.
