Medical schools improve and expand

An analysis of more than 25,000 Caribbean-educated doctors in the US has found that medical students have shown ‘‘performance improvement in some areas’’ over the decade.

This is considered important in the US because the number of Caribbean-educated doctors has grown from about 1,500 arrivals a year in 2000 to 4,000 in 2009, and is predicted to expand.
