70 research teams share CND$32m funding

Gary Goodyear, the Canadian minister for science and technology, announced funding worth CND$32 million on 13 February for 70 research teams to work on projects in areas such as ICT, environment and manufacturing.

The money will be provided through the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and will be spent over three years in the form of Strategic Project Grants. These are intended to support early-stage projects and encourage collaboration between industry, academic and government partners.
