A dedicated scientific advisory board led by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) will be established to offer advice to the United Nations on science-related issues.
The move was announced by the organisation’s director-general, Irina Bokova, during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) on 22 June.
