University rankings short-change Caribbean region

Latin America and the Caribbean governments should not rely on international ranking results to assess the performance of national universities, design higher education policy or allocate funds, a conference on regional university rankings heard.

In a declaration at the end of the conference held from 17-18 May in Mexico, the university heads said the rankings fell short in comparing a limited group of indicators.
