African Union develops action plan

The New Partnership for Africa’s Development, the planning branch of the African Union, has set up a high-level panel to work on an implementation plan for measures to support African science.

The implementation plan will replace the Consolidated Plan of Action that was adopted by the continent’s science ministers in 2005. The panel is expected to present its work on improving science in Africa during the fifth African Ministerial Conference on Science and Technology in November.
