Education spending around the world has been steadily rising but access remains highly unequal, says a report by the OECD published on 11 September.
The report, ‘Education at a Glance 2012’, found that there are vast differences between countries’ efforts to facilitate access to higher education, especially for lower-income students. Australia, Finland, Ireland and Sweden have the highest success rates in the OECD for young people with poorly educated parents attaining a degree.
