Japanese government proposes research boost

Japan’s ruling party has proposed a supplementary budget of 10.3 trillion yen (€86 billion) to support research and encourage green industries, the Nature News blog has reported.

The extra money would include 180 billion yen to support commercialisation of basic research in Japanese universities and 20 billion yen for research on induced pluripotent stem cells, the blog says.
