Disaster prevention brings Japan and Brazil together

The Japan International Cooperation Agency and three Brazilian ministries agreed to work together on disaster risk management and response on 29 January. Norihito Yonebayashi, who led the Japanese delegation, said he recognises that disaster prevention is an urgent concern for Brazil and welcomes the opportunity for collaboration. He added that he hoped Japan would also be able to benefit from Brazil’s strengths.
