Lower science budget announced in India

Funding for research has been lowered slightly, once inflation has been taken into account, in India’s budget for 2013-14. The budget, released on 28 February, did not appear to back up Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statement in January that the country should double its R&D spending.
