The Future Earth sustainability research platform has chosen Amy Luers, a data scientist, to succeed Paul Shrivastava as its executive director.
Future Earth is a 10-year initiative that aims to advance global sustainability by building an international research platform. It was launched in 2015, with Shrivastava at its helm.
Prior to this appointment, Luers directed the climate and water programmes at the Skoll Global Threats Fund. She has advised the California state department, the White House and the UN on environment issues, and was part of Future Earth in its early stages as a member of the Engagement Committee, an advisory body that supports the platform.
