World science academy to honour women scientists

The World Academy of Sciences has put out a call for nominations for its three women scientist awards.

In an announcement published on 31 May, the academy announced three prizes, two of which are new.

The Samira Omar Innovation for Sustainability Prize will be awarded for the first time to a female researcher for scientific achievements in conservation and natural resource management. Candidates must live in one of the UN’s 48 least developed countries.
