Nobel winners protest against researcher’s death sentence

An open letter signed by 121 Nobel laureates has appealed directly to the ruler of Iran over the death sentence for researcher Ahmadreza Djalali. Djalali, a Swedish-Iranian disaster-medicine researcher, has been under arrest in Iran since 2016. “We now hear that his medical condition is declining rapidly and he is in hospital and in desperate need of the best possible medical care,” the letter says.
