Legally binding World Health Organization agreement could require countries to ramp up R&D

Nearly 200 countries have agreed to start drawing up a legally binding agreement on how to protect the world from future pandemics, including commitments to boost research and development.

Brokered by the World Health Organization, the move has been hailed as a significant step towards preventing the scale of damage caused by Covid-19 from happening again.
