South America moves towards a regional science pact

Nine countries have announced plans to increase funding for science and research within the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR).

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela have also signed an agreement to adopt the regional organisation’s 2012-2014 Plan of Action to create a common framework for science collaboration, TelesurTV reports.
