Canada to lead international open data working group

Canada will co-chair the first International Open Data Working Group along with the World Wide Web Foundation, Treasury Board Secretary Tony Clement announced at the 2013 Open Government Partnership Summit in London, UK.

"Open Data is truly an opportunity to spur innovation and economic growth and improve the lives of everyday citizens," said Clement at the summit on 31 October.

The working group aims to identify and share good practices and standards to help governments implement their open data commitments and develop more ambitious and innovative plans.
