Health institutes simplify reporting requirements

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research has overhauled its Research Reporting System to reduce the burden on researchers.

After collecting feedback from researchers, the funding council designed a report that has fewer questions and is shorter than the previous version, but ensures that the data captured still align with the CIHR’s reporting requirements.

The CIHR uses the reports to collect information on the research outputs of grants, to track the impacts of individual grants over a number of years, to produce updates to show the impact of CIHR funding and to evaluate the effectiveness of its funding programmes and strategies.
